- St. Stephen's De La Salle BNS

Our school's soccer team were drawn to play St. Declan's in the semi final of this year's Jack Kennedy Memorial Cup. The game was played on the back pitch at the RSC, home of Waterford FC. We played very well and dominated the opening 15 minutes before St. Declan's grew into the game. Two defensive mistakes gave them a 0-2 lead at half time, and despite a huge effort from our boys, we were unable to stop St. Declan's from scoring again and advancing to the final.

Well done to all the boys who have taken part in soccer since January and played in the three competitions. They have all represented our school so well and we thank them for their efforts. Thanks also to Mr. Coghlan, Mr. Hayden, and Mr. Russell who looked after the boys in the FAI Schools 5 A Side, the Willie Moran Memorial Tournament, and the Jack Kennedy Memorial Cup.
