Our U-11 Hurling campaign for 2018 drew to a close on May 22nd with our final of three blitzes. The first blitz took place in St. Saviour’s, with two teams from St. Stephen’s taking part. This presented an opportunity for many boys in third class to take part in their first matches with the school hurling team. In our second blitz our team faced Gaelscoil na nDéise, Mount Sion and Scoil Lorcáin and having recorded three victories qualified for Roinn A Group 1.

In our third and final blitz we would face Ballygunner, St. Declan’s and Mount Sion once again. In the first game against Mt. Sion we recorded a narrow victory following a strong second half showing. The second game was against Ballygunner and on this occasion they proved too strong for our team. A win in our last game against St. Declan’s would ensure second place. After a slow start once again we upped our game in the second half to run out winners. Well done to all boys involved in the panel who trained very well throughout the year. Many of this team were also involved in our 4th Class Indoor Hurling team who won the Eastern Final earlier in the year. Check out a photo of the panel below!
