We LOVED Maths Week here in Mrs. Breen's 1st Class! Another one of the fun challenges we did was using lollipop sticks! Each boy had 10 sticks and had to make a 3D shape, with no sticks left over. The boys also talked about why no-one had a circle or semi-circle - they said that sticks are straight with no curved lines. Great answer! The final part of the challenge was completed using teamwork - in groups of 4 with 40 lollipop sticks, the boys had to make a picture using only 2D shapes! Everyone in Mrs. Breen's 1st Class enjoyed the lollipop stick challenge - check out some photos in the gallery below!
