We had a very successful start to 2020 when our 3rd and 4th Class indoor hurling team qualified in top position for the finals of the 2020 indoor hurling competition on Tuesday, January 28th. We overcame Gaelscoil na nDéise and Ballygunner in very close, competitive games. Thanks to Mr. Keevers for this report.

3rd and 4th Class hurlers played two very competitive blitzes in the Carrickphierish Sports Hall. In the first blitz they played some excellent hurling and managed to beat Ballygunner and Gaelscoil na nDéise at the second time of asking in a play-off match after losing narrowly to them in the first match. St. Stephen's therefore qualified for the cup competition a week later and lost two matches against very stiff opposition. St. Declan's and Ballygunner got the better of St. Stephen's but the boys really improved their performance to finish the competition on a high by winning an exciting game versus near neighbours Mount Sion.

The boys represented their school very well over the two blitzes both by the way they played as a team and the effort they gave. Well done to all the boys and thanks to Mr. O'Sullivan for the excellent report!
