- St. Stephen's De La Salle BNS

A total of 10 teams participated in the 2005 Basketball tournaments held in De La Salle College. The 5th Class tournament had both boys and girls competing. The six teams were divided into two pools with the winner in each pool going on to the final.

In Pool A, St. Declan’s came out on top while in Pool B, St. Stephen’s A were the winners. This was a very closely contested final with both teams scoring basket for basket until the final quarter when St. Declan’s pulled away to win the tournament. 6th Class Division 1 had four teams competing – Mount Sion, Holy Cross, St. Declan’s, St. Stephen’s. All teams showed great skill and determination with Holy Cross narrowly defeating St. Declan’s for a place in the final. The final between Holy Cross and St. Stephen’s proved to be a very exciting game with both teams giving their all. Although Holy Cross were very eager to win, St. Stephen’s having the experience of winning the final last year, came out on top.

The Basketball Committee would like to thank De La Salle College for providing the venue and Br. Tom, referees and scorekeepers for the smooth running of both tournaments.
