St. Stephen's received a visit on Friday, September 27th, 2013 from Waterford's All Ireland Minor Hurling Champions 2013!

Some of the squad came to visit our school, bringing the Irish Press Cup with them and had some words of inspiration about hurling and Gaelic Football for our pupils. Selector Seán Power spoke about the dedication and character of the team and their love of the game of hurling. He said how important it was to love the game because if you do, then you can become a really good player!

3 players from the De La Salle Hurling and Football Club were on the panel and came into St. Stephen's. Jack McCarthy, who went to school in St. Declan's was part of the visit too. And we were delighted to welcome back two past pupils of our school. Adam Farrell, who played at wing forward and corner forward through the campaign, and Shane Ryan, who came on as a substitute to make a telling impact on the game, returned to our school as part of the All Ireland winning squad.
