St. Stephen's received a visit on Monday, September 19th, 2013 from a former past pupil and one of Waterford's All Ireland U21 Hurling Champions 2016!

Past pupil of St. Stephen's, Adam Farrell, who was also part of the squad for
Waterford's All Ireland Minor Hurling Championship win in 2013, visited our school with the James Nowlan Cup! He said how important it was to love the game because if you do, and you stick at it, then you can become a really good player - and to a huge cheer, he gave everyone a night off homework!

Chairman of the De La Salle GAA Hurling and Football Club,
Seamus Quirke, spoke about the huge support that the U21s had throughout the campaign, and how important St. Stephen's has been for the De La Salle GAA Club over the years. Several players from the club have now represented Waterford at inter-county level. The cups were also accompanied by Philly Flynn, part of the U21s backroom team, and Eoin Breathnach, who organises coaching of our national games at primary school level.
