What a trip this was! Mr. Hayden's 5th Class travelled to Wexford for a day of history!

The class made their way to Enniscorthy, where they visited the 1798 National Rebellion Centre and Enniscorthy Castle. The boys were learning about and handling the weapons used in the 1798 Rising, such as muskets, bayonets, and of course, pikes; and a tour of the centre, to learn about how the United Irishmen came to organise the Rising in June 1798.

Then, it was on to Enniscorthy Castle, where everyone enjoyed being out on the roof and being able to see Vinegar Hill in the distance.

It was a brilliant day out for the boys, and there are some photos to view in the gallery below!
