We celebrated SAFER INTERNET DAY on Tuesday, February 7th, 2017. We made some posters to promote internet safety and to remind ourselves about all that we learned about. See the posters here.

We also learned about copyright - getting permission to use other people's work is so important. We wouldn't like it if someone took our work and used it without our permission. We also learned about privacy online, and about the "Granny Rule". That rule is that if you wouldn't want your granny to see a photo, then maybe you shouldn't post it online. We talked about sourcing information and crediting sources, and we learned how to use Creative Commons to search for images, video, and audio.

We used the Webwise resource, "Safer Selfie", to see what can happen a photo online, such as how it can be seen differently by different people, and how quickly it can go viral. We recorded a podcast with some tips for staying safe online, which you can hear on this link, and we learned and podcasted the Webwise / PDST Technology in Education Safer Internet Day Rap "I Like It" in accapella form, which you can hear on this link!

We certainly have a better sense of internet safety after our work on this important day. Finally, Webwise sent us some lovely wristbands to help us to celebrate Safer Internet Day 2017 too. And finally, we took some photos for the #Up2Us competition. The photos are below:
