St. Stephen's received a visit from two officers representing the Irish Defence Forces on Monday, October 5th.

Irish Defence Forces Officers Shane and Kieran presented our school with the Irish Tricolour. Our national flag was first flown here in Waterford by Thomas Francis Meagher, at the Wolfe Tone Confederate Club on The Mall, on March 7th 1848. They also presented our school with a copy of the Proclamation that was read aloud outside the GPO in Dublin's O'Connell Street, at the beginning of the 1916 Rising.

We sang "Amhrán na bhFiann" for the two officers after the presentation too. Check out the photos from the day in the gallery below:
