ACTIVITIES

St. Stephen's U-10 Gaelic Football team commenced training on the first Thursday in September. An excellent turnout for training over the first number of weeks ensured that we had enough players to enter two teams into the first blitz of the year. This blitz, organised by Waterford Coaching and Games, took place in Walsh Park on Wednesday, September 23rd. Many boys had the opportunity to play for a school team for the first time in this blitz.

The second blitz of the year took place in De La Salle Gracdieu, where we recorded a victory over Ferrybank and lost out narrowly to Portlaw and Scoil Lorcáin. We then qualified for Roinn A Group 2 which would take place in Gracedieu once again.

In our final blitz of the year we faced Mount Sion, Holycross and Ferrybank. After recording comprehensive wins over Ferrybank and Mount Sion we faced Holycross, who were also undefeated, in our final game. Having trailed at half time two second half goals from Conor McCabe guided us to victory. As a result we won the group and the trophy was presented to our joint-captains. Well done to the boys on the U10 Gaelic Football panel, all of whom played a part in securing the trophy, and to teachers Mr. Fitzgerald and Mr. O'Sullivan.
