We had a great time celebrating World Book Day 2015 in St. Stephen's! All the festivities were planned to open up the benefits of reading to everyone - and everyone had a great time all week as every class celebrated books, reading and all that goes with it! Check out the activities listed below, click on the underlined word to jump straight to that activity and read on to learn more about that particular part of our celebrations. We hope you enjoy looking through our celebrations for World Book Day 2015 - we certainly enjoyed taking part in them!

* Buddy Reading, where the 5th and 6th Class boys read some stories for the junior and senior infant classes.

* Dressing up as a book character for the day, which took place in the Junior Classes.

* Shared Reading: volunteers from the Parents' Association came in to visit 1st class and read stories with the boys.

* Author Visit: Author Martin Brennan visited St. Stephen's on March 5th to talk to the 4th, 5th and 6th Classes about the writing process, the life of an author - and how to make writing (and reading!) interesting!

* Sharing Favourite Reads: World Book Day 2015 was the perfect opportunity for the boys in 4th Class to bring in their favourite books and share some information about them with the rest of the class! There was a massive variety of books on show, ranging from science to football, Wimpy Kid to Dinosaurs, to the scary stories from Darren Shan to the always popular Harry Potter!

* D.E.A.R. time - Drop Everything And Read - quiet time to read in silence and enjoy a story!

* Author Visit for Junior Classes: Author Liam Farrell visited St. Stephen's on March 19th to talk to the Junior Classes!
