Gaelic Football is a game, thousands of years old, first played by the Irish and now played around the world by many other counties, a lot of whom have Irish descendants. It is recognised as one of Ireland's national games. The idea of the game is to kick a ball either between the other team's goalposts for a goal (which is worth three points) or by kicking the ball or hand passing it over the crossbar for one point. It's also known as Gaelic or just "football" in Ireland, meaning that football is mostly known as "soccer". It is one of the last remaining amateur games in the world.
