The boys in 5th Class 2017/18 wrote a script and made storyboards for their 5 minute film, which is a short look at the history of Waterford's City Walls. The title for their film is "Waterford: Ireland's Oldest City". The names for the shortlist were released on Friday, September 14th, and we are delighted to reveal that the boys' film made the shortlist! They will now travel to The Helix Theatre in Dublin in November to the FÍS National Film Awards. It's a massive achievement to be the only school in Waterford to reach this stage! Well done to all the boys, and we wish them the very best of luck on the day. Watch" Waterford: Ireland's Oldest City" here!

FÍS Film Festival 2018:
Mr. Russell's 5th Class 2017/18 entered the national FÍS film making competition for primary schools. The boys wrote a script and made storyboards for their 5 minute film, which is a short look at the history of Waterford's City Walls. The title for their film is "Waterford: Ireland's Oldest City". See the completed film here! The FÍS competition has a strict 5 minute time limit, meaning the boys had to cut a number of scenes. So they made a special, extended "Director's Cut", featuring 3 extra scenes, and that can be seen here! The judges' decision will be announced in September. We wish the boys the very best of luck!
