Summer Holidays:
St. Stephen's is now closed for the summer holidays. School reopens for the 2017/2018 school year on Thursday August 31st at 8:50am. We hope everyone has a fantastic summer break!

6th Class Graduation Mass:
Graduation Mass for Mr. Keevers' and Mr. Casey's 6th Classes took place on Thursday, June 29th in the school hall. See photos here. We wish these wonderful boys in our departing 6th Classes the very best for the future!

6th Class Trip to Wexford:
Mr. Keevers' and Mr. Casey's 6th Classes had a BLAST when they travelled to Shielbaggan Outdoor Adventure Centre for the annual 6th Class trip. Click here to see some photos from the final trip in St. Stephen's for these 6th Class boys!

Give us a wave! 4th Class went surfing in Tramore!:
Mr. O'Sullivan's and Mr. Fitzgerald's 4th Classes had so much fun on their school tour - they went surfing in Tramore! Click here to see photos from the 4th Class trip!

Heather and Ted from Dog's Trust visit St. Stephen's - again!:
After a very successful visit to Senior Infants, 3rd, 4th and 5th Classes in May, Heather and Ted from Dog's Trust Ireland returned to St. Stephen's on Monday, June 26th, to talk to 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th Classes about the work of Dog's Trust and safety around dogs. St. Stephen's - Jack Kennedy Memorial Cup WINNERS 2017!:
After an epic match and a superb team effort, St. Stephen's took home the Jack Kennedy Memorial Cup for the 2nd time in three years after an epic win over Scoil Lorcáin!

Well done to Mr. Russell, Mr. Coghlan and the entire squad who played their part in getting to the final and winning the Jack Kennedy Memorial Cup for the second time in three years. Read the match report from the RSC and see photos here !


FÍS Film Competition:
For the first time EVER, a class from St. Stephen's is entering the national FÍS Film Making Competition. The boys in Mr. Russell's 5th class wrote a script and made storyboards for their 5-minute movie, which is a short story about an Irish family on the Titanic. They began filming in Cobh, Co. Cork on Monday, May 29th and worked very hard for weeks using green screens. The title for their film is "Gone But Not Forgotten". See the completed film here! The competition has a strict 5 minute limit, so the boys had to cut a number of scenes. So they made a Director's Cut, which is a little longer! See the Director's Cut here!

Senior Infants had a Teddy Bear's Picnic!:
Mrs. Breen's Class enjoyed a Teddy Bear's Picnic on Friday, June 23rd! The boys and the teddies even got to sit in Mr. Morris' chair!!!!! Check out the photos from a fun time in Senior Infants!

Senior Infants and 5th Class visit the People's Park:
Mrs. Breen's Senior Infants and their buddies in Mr. Russell's 5th Class went to the Park! Everyone had fun and enjoyed the walk. See photos here and see a slideshow of the fun here!

Mr. O'Sullivan's Class - Country Projects:
Mr. O'Sullivan's 4th Class were learning about the flags, languages and customs of different countries. The boys worked very hard and made some excellent projects about different countries, as well as presenting them for other classes to share what they had learned! Junior Infants on Tour!:
Miss Hickey's Class had a lovely time on tour at Sallyfort Farm on Thursday, June 22nd! See photos here from a hugely enjoyable day out!

Senior Infants on Tour!:
Mrs. Breen's and Miss Robinson's Senior Infants went off on their school trip on Monday, June 19th. The lucky boys went to visit Parson's Green! Read more and see photos from their big day out!

Roots of Empathy 2016/2017:
The 2016/2017 Roots of Empathy programme in 5th Class has come to an end. The final Family Visit took place on Tuesday, June 20th, when baby Lucy came to visit for the final time. Read about the final theme and see the last photos here!

Chess Club Outing:
The annual Chess Club trip took place on Monday, June 19th, as the Chess Club boarded a bus after school and made their way up to the beautiful Comeragh Mountains. Find out how they got on - and see photos here!

Raising of the newest Green Flag in St. Stephen's:
We were delighted to raise our newest Green Flag, the Water Flag, on Friday, June 16th. Congratulations to all the boys in our school for working to have this flag awarded, and a big well done to Mrs. Breen and all the boys on the Green Schools Committee! Mr. Hayden's 5th Class on Tour:
Mr. Hayden's 5th Class went on an exciting day out to Wexford! The boys visited the National 1798 Rebellion Centre and Enniscorthy Castle. Read more and see photos here!

Recorder Concerts in 1st, 2nd and 6th Class:
A wonderful time was had by all in the school hall on Thursday, June 15th, 2017. Miss Butler's 1st Class, Mr. Coghlan's 2nd Class, and Mr. Keevers' and Mr. Casey's 6th Classes put on a fantastic Recorder Concert for parents and families. St. Stephen's and St. Patrick's - De La Salle schools working together:
In a wonderful link up between the only two Lasallian primary schools in Ireland, Mr. Russell's Class from St. Stephen's De La Salle Skyped with Mr. Devaney and the boys from St. Patrick's De La Salle in Castlebar, Co.Mayo. The classes did a literacy/art activity where they drew monsters and wrote descriptions, which were then sent by email to the other class, who had to try to draw the monster based on the description. Everyone had great fun - and there are plans for Mr. Russell's Class and Mr. Devaney's Class to set up a permanent link in the school year 2017/2018 to do other projects. Well done everyone!

Hurling Presentations 2017:
The annual presentation of medals to all the boys in 1st, 2nd and 3rd Class was made in the hall on Tuesday, June 13th. Br. Frank, Peter, Mr. Hayden and Mr. Fahy presented plaques and medals to the boys who have played hurling after school all year. See photos from the presentation here!

Chess Awards 2017:
The Chess Awards were held on Monday, June 12th, for all the beginners and the players who have played the game after school this year. See photos from the awards here.

School Sports Day:
The annual St. Stephen's Sports Day was held in the De La Salle GAA Club's Cleaboy grounds on Friday, June 9th. We have tons of photos to show you - see them all here!

Willie Moran Memorial Tournament:
The now annual tournament in memory of teaching colleague, Willie Moran, took place in the stunning WIT Arena on Thursday, June 8th, 2017. Our boys had fantastic success! Read more and see photos here!

Roots of Empathy - Family Visit #8:
The Roots of Empathy programme in 5th Class is nearing the end. The second last Family Visit took place recently. Baby Lucy came to visit the boys in 5th Class for the 8th time - see photos and read more here!

6th Class Confirmation:
Congratulations to the boys in Mr. Casey's and Mr. Keevers' 6th Classes, who made their Confirmation in the Cathedral on Friday, June 2nd, 2017. The sun shone for the boys on their big day and a lovely ceremony was made even more special with the beautiful singing from our wonderful boys in the school choir. Well done to everyone!

1st / 2nd / 3rd Class on Tour:

What an amazing day the boys in these lucky classes had! Miss Flavin's and Miss Butler's 1st Classes, Mr. Coghlan's and Miss Flynn's 2nd Classes, and Mrs. Kealy's and Mr. Morris' 3rd Classes took off on their school trip on Monday, May 15th. See some photos here!

Vedrarfjordr's Vile Villains - History in Waterford City:
Mr. Hayden's Class took a very interesting walk around Waterford - to learn about the Vile Villains from our city's storied history! The boys went brought around the city by local historian Stephen, and heard about some of "Vedrarfjordr's Vile Villains". See photos here!

#5thClassOnTour:
For their class trip this year, Mr. Russell's 5th Class went to Co. Cork! The boys visited Titanic Experience Cobh and Fota Wildlife Park! See photos from their fantastic day out!

Dog's Trust Ireland visits St. Stephen's:
St. Stephen's received a visit from Heather and helper dog Ted from Dog's Trust Ireland on Tuesday, May 30th. Read more and see photos from Mrs. Breen's Senior Infants and Mr. Hayden's 5th Class - click here!

Green Flag News:
What great news it is too! St. Stephen's has been awarded a THIRD Green Flag! Mrs. Breen and 2 boys from the Green Schools Committee received the flag in Kilkenny on Tuesday, May 23rd. Read more here!

Hurling in the Senior Classes:
St. Stephen's was visited by a GAA coach recently, who gave some coaching lessons in hurling. The boys really enjoyed the skills and the small sided games. See some photos from hurling in 5th Class here!

Vedrarfjordr's Vile Villains - History in Waterford City:
5th Class took a very interesting walk around Waterford - to learn about the Vile Villains from our city's storied history! The boys went brought around the city by local historian Stephen, and heard about some of "Vedrarfjordr's Vile Villains" See a massive selection of photos from the walk!

Party for the Communion Classes:
The boys in Mr. Coghlan's and Miss Flynn's 2nd Classes were treated to a lovely party in school after making their First Holy Communion. The Parents' Association generously sponsors a party for the Communion classes every year, with lots of nice goodies for the boys. See some photos from the 2nd Classes!

First Holy Communion 2017:
Congratulations and well done to all the boys in Mr. Coghlan's and Miss Flynn's 2nd Classes who made their First Holy Communion in the Cathedral on May 21st. The boys and their teachers had been preparing for this very special day for a long time! Also a big thank you and well done to Miss Power and the school choir, who made the occasion extra special with their lovely singing!

Cycling in 4th Class:
Mr. Fitzgerald's and Mr. O'Sullivan's classes have been having a "wheelie" good time! The boys in 4th Class have been enjoying cycling and road safety lessons! These lessons are very kindly sponsored by the St. Stephen's Parents' Association, who sponsor many fantastic activities for our school. 5th Class and the Titanic:
5th Class in St. Stephen's had the most amazing guest speaker recently! Dr. David Gallo, world famous oceanographer and scientist, joined the boys on Skype on Monday, May 8th. Dr. Gallo spent an hour talking about the technologies and people who worked to find the Titanic on the bottom of the ocean, and the continuing work to study the remains of the ship. He also took lots of questions from the boys! You can hear Dr. Gallo's talk with the boys on their class radio station - or you can listen back to the call here!

De La Salle Day 2017:
St. Stephen's celebrated the feast of Our Founder, St. John Baptist De La Salle, with a special mass in the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity on Friday, May 12th. We were joined by families and friends of our school, as well as some of the Brothers, past pupils and past staff members. Our boys were a credit to our school, behaving excellently and singing out the hymns to honour Saint La Salle.

Athletics 2017:
St. Stephen's sent 39 boys to compete in the now annual primary schools' athletics competition, which was held on Wednesday, May 3rd, in the RSC. Read more and see our athletes here!

RNLI Visit St. Stephen's De La Salle:
St. Stephen's received a visit from Susan from the RNLI recently. Susan spoke with the classes about water safety and the work of the RNLI. All the boys got a lovely workbook with lots of safety tips for the seaside and swimming in the summer months. Check out some photos from Susan's visit to 5th Class.

FAI Schools 5-A-Side Competition - County Finals:
Everyone in St. Stephen's was delighted to see our boys competing in the County Finals in the national FAI Schools 5-A-Side Competition. The boys played in the finals on Wednesday, April 26th, in the WIT Arena. Unfortunately, it wasn't our day and we exited the competition for another year. Well done to our boys for all their efforts in this tournament, and they're already looking forward to both the Willie Moran Memorial Tournament and the Jack Kennedy Memorial Cup which are coming up shortly.

5th Class - Learning about Reptiles and Responsible Pet Care:
Wow! Mr. Russell's 5th Class have had quite the adventure! The boys travelled (virtually!) from St. Stephen's to Mrs. U's class in Pennsylvania in the USA. Mrs. U teachers biology and environmental science to high school students, but gives live Skype sessions to a select few classes to show off her class' animals and talk about their characteristics, as well as responsbile pet care. The boys in 5th Class learned about gekkos, skinks, bearded dragons, tarantulas and snakes, before - wait for this - getting to watch a live feeding of a ball python. FAI Schools 5-A-Side Competition:
St. Stephen's entered two teams in the national FAI Schools 5-A-Side Competition recently. Find out how the teams fared!

Roots of Empathy:
Baby Lucy was back to visit 5th Class on Tuesday, April 4th! Lucy's latest visit to St. Stephen's was to teach the boys all about Communication. Read more and see the photos here!

Swimming 2017:
Swimming is underway for 5th and 6th Classes every Thursday! 1st and 2nd Classes will go to Kingfisher for their swimming lessons in May and June!

Lá Gaelach 2017:
Every year, we have a Lá Gaelach (Irish Day)! There's music, drama, chat and fun - and a mini concert too!! The boys from the classes sing songs, play, speak in Irish, and enjoy all things Gaeilge as we celebrate our national language. 2017's Lá Gaelach was held on Wednesday, March 15th and Thursday, March 16th, with all classes taking part. Seachtain na Gaeilge 2017:
This year, Seachtain na Gaeilge was EXTRA special in St. Stephen's! Every day in the week running up to St. Patrick's Day, we had "Nuacht an Lae"! The boys from the different classes came on the intercom and gave us some news - as Gaeilge! Maith sibh, buachaillí! Hear the news from the week here!

Lasallian Competition 2016/2017:

The theme for the 2017 Lasallian Competition was "An Event In The Life Of John Baptist De La Salle". Mr. Russell's Class entered again this year, and made a documentary style video for their project. The celebration and presentation of projects took place on Tuesday, March 14th, at the De La Salle Pastoral Centre in Castletown, Co. Laois. The boys secured a runners up place and special commendation for their work and took home a beautiful plaque for the school and a certificate each. 5th class are very proud of their project - and rightly so! World Book Day 2017:

It's a day we always look forward to here in St. Stephen's - World Book Day! The 2017 celebration of books and reading took place on Thursday, March 2nd, and there were a load of activities all around the school for the day. Check out the highlights from World Book Day 2017 here!


Pancake Tuesday 2017:

Rainforest Projects:

Mr. O'Sullivan's 4th Class completed some absolutely stunning projects recently. The boys had been learning all about the Rainforests, and they made projects that included amazing dioramas. The boys were so proud of their work, and rightly so, that they opened their room up to other classes and gave short talks about them. Take a look at photos of the brilliant work here! Drumming:
The final drumming sessions of 2016/2017 took place in the hall on Wednesday, February 15th! Miss Flavin's 1st Class presented their first ever performance, while Mr. Keevers' 6th Class and Mr. Casey's 6th Class showcased their drumming for the final time in St. Stephen's... 10@10 in St. Stephen's:

To encourage more people to get involved in physical activity, RTÉ's TV Show "Operation Transformation" asked all schools to take part in "10 @ 10" - 10 minutes of physical activity at 10:00am on the 10th of February, 2017. St. Stephen's De La Salle was delighted to take part - check out the highlights here!

Valentine's Day 2017:

Mr. Russell's 5th Class took part in a global project to share greetings for St. Valentine's Day... but with a 21st Century twist, as no physical cards were sent! Find out all about it here!

Safer Internet Day 2017:
Mr. Russell's 5th Class marked Safer Internet Day on February 7th with lots of activities and learning about online safety. More information here!

Chess Challenge at St. Paul's Community College:

The Chess Club went to St. Paul's Community College on Tuesday, February 7th for a Chess Challenge! Billy and Mr. Russell accompanied the boys, who were facing a big challenge against secondary school boys and girls. Click here to see how they got on!

Roots of Empathy - Family Visit #5:

The latest Family Visit in Roots of Empathy was for the theme of "Sleep". Baby Lucy came to visit and the boys in 5th Class were able to ask lots of questions about babies and sleep. Check out the photos here!

Indoor Hurling:
Our Indoor Hurling team participated in a series of blitzes over the past few weeks - find out how they got on!

Credit Union Quiz 2017:
The Credit Union Quiz for 2017 was on Monday, January 30th. As always, St. Stephen's was well represented with a number of teams from our school at each age bracket. All our teams performed well and the boys enjoyed the night. The U13 team, pictured on the left with their trophies, finished second on the night. Well done boys! Exploring the world of Sharks on Skype:
Mr. O'Sullivan's Class had their first EVER Skype! The boys were joined by marine biologist Jillian Morris on Skype on Monday, January 30th. Jillian spoke to the boys to teach them all about sharks and the oceans. Check back for more on this during the week!

Swimming 2017:
Swimming is underway for 2017! 3rd and 4th Class are enjoying their lessons in the Crystal swimming pool each Thursday. The 5th and 6th Classes will follow at the end of March, while 1st and 2nd Classes will go to Kingfisher for their swimming lessons in May and June!

Little Red Kettle to visit St. Stephen's:

We're always delighted to welcome Little Red Kettle to St. Stephen's to present their shows - and 2017 was no exception! "WOW - Weird Old World" was the title of this year's play, and was another very enjoyable and fun experience! Check out photos from the shows!

Roots of Empathy - Family Visit #4:
The Roots of Empathy programme is continuing in Mr. Russell's 5th Class, and the latest Family Visit took place recently. The theme was "Emotions" and there was great discussion and learning as baby Lucy came back to 5th Class to help the boys to learn about emotions. See the photos here!

St. Stephen's Annual Christmas Carol Service:

The always popular and highly anticipated Christmas Carol Service from St. Stephen's De La Salle took place in the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity, Barronstrand Street, on Wednesday, December 21st.As always, it was a joyous occasion for Christmas, as we celebrated the birth of Jesus - the reason that we celebrate the season. Well done to all our classes and teachers, and a special word of thanks to Ms Power and the choir, who were superb again!

Senior Infants Christmas Concert:
The two Senior Infant classes presented their Christmas Concert on Tuesday, December 20th in the school hall. The hall was jam packed as everyone flocked in to hear a whole range of Christmas songs - including some in IRISH! - from these great boys! Well done to all the boys and to their teachers, Mrs. Breen and Miss Kealy. Miss it? Hear the audio from the Senior Infants concert here!

1st Classes at Winterval 2016!:
Miss Flavin's and Miss Butler's 1st Classes must have felt like Charlie when he opened his Wonka Bar - they got a Golden Ticket to Winterval 2016! The boys had an AMAZING day out! Christmas Aistear in Miss Hickey's Class:
So-Ho!-Ho! much fun - that's exactly what was happening in Miss Hickey's Junior Infants Class! The boys learned all about Christmas and did lots of activities in their latest Aistear theme. Check it out as a slideshow or see the photos here!

Junior Infants Christmas Concert:

The two Junior Infant classes presented their Christmas Concert on Friday, December 16th in the school hall. The hall was packed out to see these magnificent boys singing their hearts out with some brilliant songs! Well done to all the boys and to their teachers, Miss Hickey and Miss Kenny. Miss it? Christmas Art in Mr. O'Sullivan's 4th Class:

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.... and that's exactly what Mr. O'Sullivan's Class did as they made their Christmas Art! The boys worked with items that had been listed to be thrown away - and produced some lovely art work! Check it out here!

A Visit to the Giving Tree:

Mrs. Breen's Senior Infants, along with their buddies in Mr. Russell's 5th class, together with Miss Hickey's Junior Infants, and their buddies in Mr. Casey's 6th Class, and Miss Hickey's boys and their buddies in Mr. Keevers' 6th Class, went to pay a visit to the Giving Tree in George's Court on Thursday, December 15th. The Giving Tree is a yearly tradition in Waterford, where children from local schools are invited to place a handmade decoration on the Tree. For every decoration that is placed on the tree, a toy or game is donated to a local charity. The boys from all the classes were delighted to place their handmade decorations on the tree, and everyone had great fun as they all sang Jingle Bells in the middle of the shopping centre! Thinking of others at Christmas:

The School Choir travelled to Maypark Nursing Home on Thursday, December 15th, where the boys sang some Christmas Carols for the residents there. It was just a small gesture from our school to do something nice for others in the community. A big well done to Ms Power and the choir for all their great singing!

Maths for Fun in Mr. Coghlan's 2nd Class:
The Maths for Fun programme ran recently in Mr. Coghlan's Class recently, and proved to be a great success! Of course, we are very appreciative of the volunteer parents who came in to help to run the different stations, as without you, there wouldn't be a Maths for Fun programme. Thanks also to Mr. Fahy, our HSCL Teacher, who co-ordinates and runs the programme! See photos here!

Science for Fun in Mr. Hayden's 5th Class:
The Science for Fun programme has been a great success in its' most recent run in Mr. Hayden's 5th Class! The boys are learning lots, as well as having fun conducting scientific experiments. Of course, the best part of all is that with all these experiments, Mr. Hayden's boys haven't blown up their room!!! We are very grateful to all the volunteer parents who come in to help to run the different science experiment stations, as without you, there wouldn't be Science for Fun. Thanks also to Mr. Fahy, our HSCL Teacher, who organises and runs the programme! See photos of their science fun here!

Drumming in St. Stephen's:
It was been a hugely busy week in St. Stephen's with not one, not two, but SIX classes presenting their drumming concerts!!!! LOADS of parents and families came in to support the boys on Wednesday December 7th and Thursday, December 8th as they played some stunning rhythms. Internet Radio:
As you may (or may not!) know, Mr. Russell's Class have their own internet radio station! But now, they've expanded their programming, with 24 hour broadcasting during the school week, and news items from their class. In addition to that, Mrs. Breen's Senior Infants join the 5th Class boys on air each week to give their news, and Mr. O'Sullivan's 4th Class add to the news by keeping us updated on the exciting activities in their room! Hurling Presentations - December 2016:

The presentation of medals to all the boys who play hurling after school with Br. Frank, Peter Galvin, Mr. Fahy, and Mr. Hayden took place on Tuesday, December 6th in the hall. It was great to see so many parents and family members come along to support the boys. Past Pupil and Waterford hurler Jake Dillon returned to present the medals and plaques on the day. Roots of Empathy 2016/2017:
Baby Lucy visited St. Stephen's for the 3rd Family Visit in the Roots of Empathy programme. The theme this time was "Caring for Baby". It was a lovely visit and all the boys in 5th Class enjoyed having Lucy come to visit again. Check out the photos from the latest Family Visit here!

Christmas is Coming!

Yes, it's that time of year... Christmas is fast approaching, and as always, it's a very special time in St. Stephen's De La Salle, with lovely artwork, stories, poems, displays, carol singing, Christmas Plays and Christmas Concerts taking place, along with our school's annual Christmas Carol Service. More news on what's happening for Christmas 2016 will be posted in the coming week!

FAI Schools 2016 FUTSAL Competition FINALS:

Our B Team competed in the 2016 FAI Schools FUTSAL "B" Competition Finals in the WIT Sports Campus on Tuesday, November 29th. The boys did themselves and their school proud once again, finishing 2nd in the group as runners up! Parent Teacher Meetings 2016:
It was another successful week of Parent Teacher Meetings in St. Stephen's. A big thank you to all the parents and guardians who came to meet your son's teachers recently!

Roots of Empathy:

We are delighted that the Roots of Empathy programme is running again this year in St. Stephen's. Mr. Russell's 5th Class are welcoming baby Lucy to their class every 3 weeks for the year, and they will learn about emotions and growing up as baby Lucy grows up during the year. FAI Schools 2016 FUTSAL Competition:

We sent two teams to the 2016 FAI Schools FUTSAL Competition in the WIT Sports Campus on November 10th. Click here to find out how the boys got on!

A Skype with a World War II German Bunker:

The boys in Mr. Russell's 5th Class marked Remembrance Day on November 11th with a live Skype to a German World War II bunker on the island of Alderney. Read more here!

Maths Week 2016:
Maths Week 2016 was another mathe-magical week in St. Stephen's! All the classes in our school took part in a whole load of Maths activities! The boys were playing maths games, taking part in maths quizzes, solving maths puzzles, going on maths trails - it was a whole week of Maths fun! The boys in Mr. Russell's 5th Class really enjoyed Maths Week! The boys took a head scratching Maths Quiz, they've done a maths trail on Ballybricken, as well as daily Maths puzzles. Mrs. Allman's Class and Maths for Fun!:

Mrs. Allman's Class enjoyed Maths - for Fun! Lots of great games, puzzles and all round fun as the boys and Mrs. Allman, Mr. Fahy and the parents and grandparents who came in to help enjoyed lots of different Maths activities. De La Salle GAA Club's County Minor Champions visit St. Stephen's:

All of us here in St. Stephen's were delighted to welcome the victorious hurlers from De La Salle GAA Club to our school on Monday, October 10th. The team had won the County Minor Hurling Championship Final a few days before, and came to our school with the cup! See photos from the visit here or see the video highlights here!

Drum-mazing sounds from 4th and 2nd:

Rhythm and Shakes are back in St. Stephen's for another year of drumming! Mr. O'Sullivan's and Mr. Fitzgerald's 4th Classes, along with Mrs. Allman's 2nd Class, had their concerts on Tuesday, October 11th. Endangered Penguins - Learning with SANCCOB in South Africa:
Mr. Russell's Class enjoyed a Skype with Cape Town in South Africa, when Tamlyn from SANCCOB joined them on Skype (along with Steve the Penguin!) to talk about endangered penguins, and what can be done to help them. Check out the video highlights of what sounds like an amazing call with SANCCOB in South Africa!

Everyone in St. Stephen's was delighted to welcome Waterford's U21 All Ireland Hurling Champions on Monday, September 19th! Gaelic Football Coaching:

We've been very lucky to receive Gaelic Football coaching recently! Qualified GAA coach John Quinn has been visiting our school and 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Classes have been enjoying drills, skills and small sided games with John. All the boys,whether they play Gaelic Football at club level or not, have been enjoying the sessions with John. And of course, we're very grateful to John for coming in and helping to foster a love for one of our national games!

Space... The Final Frontier:
Space Week is coming up during the first week of October! Mr. Russell's 5th Class are taking part, and will be doing some very cool science work all based around the theme of Space! More news soon!

Maths Week is back in St. Stephen's! Maths Week 2016 runs October 15th to 23rd, and like the previous years, there's going to be a whole load of games, puzzles, problems and fun all based around Maths for that week! We'll have more news very soon, so... watch this space!!

We've launched a brand new Digital Archive on our website where you can read about the events from past years in St. Stephen's! You can find photos of various activities, video highlights and slideshows, as well as audio from concerts. Calling all Past Pupils and Parents of Past Pupils!!!
As you may have read, we have launched our new Digital Archive here at St. Stephen's. But we are looking for photos of past activities that we don't have copies of! We're hoping that some past pupils or their parents might have some group photos from years gone by (such as class activities or Communion / Confirmation class photos) that you might be willing to lend us so we can scan them and add them to our school's digital archive! Please get in touch with us if you think you might have something that we could add to this exciting piece of our school's history!
